I am The son of PFC Ronald B. Trombley.
He was very proud of his time in the squadron. I had the privledge of attending two reunions with him and met some of the squadron members. I am proud to be the son of a Marine and an honarary member of VMB611.
Dad passed on in Decemer, 2003. We buried him with military honors as should be, complete with the eagle, globe and anchor engraved in his coffin lid.
Semper Fi ooh rah, rest in peace
I appreciate this site and I will return.

My dad flew with VMB611. Any stories about him would be appreciated since he died in 1963 and he never really shared with the family what it was like.

Truly one of the best "unit' histories on the web. I should think any descendent of these most gallant of men would be proud to see their fathers remembered and their stories told.

Lest we forget.

I am a Viet Nam veteran, having served with the 25th Infantry Division from 1968-1969. My father, Fred Tymeson Sr., was a member of this Marine Bombing Squadron. Sadly, Dad died years ago, long before were were able to discuss our war experiences, and I am just now starting to learn about his War history.

Thanks for a great site!!!

Son of Corporal David W. Hartwell. I had the pleasure of attending 2 reunions with my dad. One in Washington DC, and another in Charleston, SC years ago. What a wonderful group of guys. I will treasure these 2 events for ever. Thank you all for the sacrifices you made to keep America free. We owe a lot to our armed force men and women.

God Bless,
David

As a Pilot with VMB611 and the Photo Officer, I greatly appreciate the collection of records for our squadron. We were very fortunate to have a wonderful commanding officer in Colonel Sarles.
